We are assisting a distribution energy company with their search for a Payroll Manager who will be a critical part of the People Services Team/Payroll Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure payroll operations are accurate, timely, customer-focused, and compliant.

• Provide staff development and monitor the workloads of geographically dispersed staff.

• Ensure that payroll systems and processes compute and record time, earnings, commissions, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other components correctly.

• Manage payroll audits, both internal and external.

• Timely completion of journal entries, payroll analysis, and related balance sheet accounts.

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and maintain a strong control environment.

Qualifications

• Workday payroll experience, including selection and implementation, is required.

• Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.

• The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), be customer service oriented, and possess analytical, financial, and system skills.

• A track record of maintaining SOX compliance.

• Business, Finance, or related degree preferred.

• Payroll experience of at least 8 years and management experience of at least 5 years with a multinational corporation.

• A minimum 5 years of experience with US payroll and payroll tax compliance which includes federal, multiple state and local authorities.
