Senior Cost Accountant (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Manchester New Hampshire (On-site) | $95-100k DOE | 5+ years experience

About the Company

Our client is a defense manufacturing company who develops mission-critical technologies for military, law enforcement, and government customers.

The Role

Lead all cost accounting activities, drive key parts of an ERP implementation, and support financial reporting that is accurate, compliant, and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost accounting requirements for the ERP implementation
  • Document configurations and write SOPs for post-go-live consistency
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations on BOM accuracy, cost rollups, and inventory valuation
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on spend, performance, and cost control
  • Complete month-end reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support Accounts Payable and serve as AP/AR backup
  • Maintain GAAP-compliant processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of cost accounting and financial management experience
  • ERP experience (Infor, Epicor, or similar)
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain SOPs
  • Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Manufacturing experience, ideally defense
  • FAR/DFARS and CAS familiarity
  • Continuous improvement track record
